my terrarium obsession.

ter·rar·i·um (t-râr-m)
n. pl. ter·rar·i·ums or ter·rar·i·a (--)
A small enclosure or closed container in which selected living plants and sometimes small land animals, such as turtles and lizards, are kept and observed.

[New Latin terrrium : Latin terra, earth; see terrene + -arium.]

surely every self confessed green lover can attest to the beauty to be found in nature. i honestly prefer greenery to flowers. i am addicted to moss, and have been since i was a young child. I am getting my first terrarium as a house warming gift, so have compiled a montage of some of my favourite terrariums.

The artist Paula Hayes is responsible for this amazing creation. her website is here. so inspirational. she does terrariums, planters, living necklaces and bird baths.

i love these home made terrariums in candy jars. after my first i will be on a mission to create more, and just found a jar exactly like this stuffed away in my mothers cupboards. huzzah!

terrariums in vintage apothecary jars and various bottles. adoration!

and for handy reference, if anyone feels like getting crafty here is a great tutorial on how to make a terrarium in an hour. also, hunt around the website for general inspiration and ideas.
